Six stories in search of a companion

‘Dog House’ returns with a new episode featuring six stories about people and families who arrive at the adoption centre hoping to find their ideal companion. The programme, presented by Chenoa, shows the search process and the connections that can develop between the dogs and those who want to welcome them into their homes.

The new episode can be watched on Tuesday 11 August, after ‘Viaje al centro de la tele’, on La 1 and RTVE Play.

One of the stories in this episode follows a couple who meet a puppy rescued immediately after birth from almost certain death. The animal is now looking for a second chance and the possibility of finding a family that can offer her a home.

Also taking part are two psychologist partners who want to take the first step towards starting the family they have always dreamed of. Their visit to the centre will reveal whether any of the dogs fits in with the life they want to begin together.

    A special connection

The programme will also tell the story of a family whose daughter has special needs. During their visit, the girl immediately connects with one of the dogs at the centre, in a moment presented by the programme as particularly moving.

Another family arrives from Seville, determined to find a new member for their household. Among them is a policewoman who has never had a dog and is facing an entirely unfamiliar experience for the first time.

Meanwhile, a mother and her son, who have travelled from Barcelona, hope to discover whether the centre’s dogs include the companion who is a perfect fit for their lives. Their story is one of the six searches featured in this new episode.

    A programme focused on adoption

Produced by RTVE in collaboration with BOXFISH, ‘Dog House’ shows the day-to-day workings of a shelter dedicated to finding the ideal family for every dog. The programme focuses on the adoption process and the bond formed between the animals and the people looking to share their lives with them.

The programme promotes the values of respect for animals and champions adoption as the preferred route. In its Spanish version, it is presented by Chenoa. The singer is known for her love of animals and her commitment to responsible adoption and charitable causes.

    Leading the Tuesday night ratings

The previous episode of ‘Dog House’ attracted almost 2.2 million unique viewers and made the programme the leader on Tuesday nights, with a 10.7% share.

The new episode will once again bring viewers the stories of those looking for a dog and the animals waiting for a second chance. Through these encounters, the programme continues to showcase the work of the adoption centre and the importance of finding the right match for every family and every dog.
