‘Tablero Deportivo’ returns to Radio Nacional de España on 15 August with the start of the 2026-2027 season. The programme, directed and presented by Miguel Ángel Méndez and Silvia Verde, maintains its commitment to sports news and live coverage, extends its broadcast hours and strengthens its team with the addition of sports journalist Pablo López.

The programme can be heard on Saturdays and Sundays, from 14:10 to 00:00, on Radio Nacional and via RNE Audio. As happened last season, the programme starts earlier to offer live coverage of the first match of each league round and extends its broadcast until midnight to complete its coverage with analysis of the matches, discussion and statements from the protagonists.

The main new feature this season will be ‘La Tertulia de Tablero’, an independent podcast format bringing together the latest part of the programme. This content will be available on RNE Audio and the main podcast platforms, allowing listeners to access analysis, debate and opinion on current sports affairs on demand, at any time and from any device.

A strengthened team for the 2026-2027 season

‘Tablero Deportivo’ begins the new season with the aim of continuing to consolidate the results achieved in the latest EGM. Pablo López joins the team formed by Miguel Ángel Méndez, Silvia Verde and Juan Manuel Pérez-Noya, becoming part of a newsroom and group of contributors linked to sports news.

The programme will continue to feature recognised names in sports journalism and commentators who bring analysis, experience and an plurality of perspectives to its coverage. They include Mista, Andrés Palop and Amavisca, as well as other voices involved in covering current affairs and competitions.

The season also sees the arrival of Víctor Fonseca, a physiotherapist with more than 15 years’ experience in professional football and at elite European clubs such as Real Madrid. His participation will bring a specialised perspective related to performance and preparation in professional sport.

The analysis panel will also feature journalists such as Carlos Carpio, Luis Villarejo, Jéssica Figueroa and Rodrigo Errasti, who join RNE professionals including Antonio Muelas, Germán García and Silvia Barba. The combination of these voices will be one of the pillars of the discussion and analysis of each round.

LaLiga, LaLiga Hypermotion and European competitions

The first weekend of the season will begin with Alavés-Getafe, the match that will open the first round of LaLiga Ea Sports on Saturday. ‘Tablero Deportivo’ will then offer coverage of Sevilla-Rayo Vallecano. Sunday will see Racing Club-Villarreal, Espanyol-Levante and Celta-Osasuna, matches that will also be broadcast on the programme.

Coverage will not be limited to the top division. LaLiga Hypermotion will also feature from Saturday 15 August, with information on all the Segunda División teams. In this way, the RNE programme will broaden its coverage of the national competition and offer listeners a more complete view of the weekend’s football activity.

RNE’s sports programming will also maintain extensive coverage of European competitions. ‘Tablero Deportivo’ will broadcast the matches involving Spanish teams participating in the Champions League, the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League.

During weeks with European competition, the programme’s broadcasts will run from Tuesday to Thursday and can be followed live via RNE Audio. The aim is also to accompany listeners during the week and provide news, live coverage and analysis of Spanish clubs’ matches in Europe.

    More coverage of other sports

The new season will continue the multi-sport focus begun last year. In addition to football, ‘Tablero Deportivo’ will provide more news and live coverage of basketball, cycling, tennis, athletics and motor racing, among other disciplines.

This expansion aims to bring listeners news from different competitions and sporting disciplines, with coverage combining live commentary, news reporting and analysis of the protagonists.

The proposal forms part of RNE Deportes’ commitment to public service, with the aim of providing comprehensive and accessible sports coverage. The programme will maintain its presence at weekends and expand its content during periods of greatest competitive activity.

‘Radiogaceta de los deportes’, every day on RNE

Sports news will also retain a daily slot in Radio Nacional’s schedule during the 2026-2027 season. ‘Radiogaceta de los deportes’ will be broadcast from Monday to Friday, from 21:00 to 21:30, with Rubén Ortega at the helm.

The programme, presented as the longest-running sports programme on Spanish radio, will continue to provide daily sports news. Its place in the schedule will complement ‘Tablero Deportivo’s’ coverage, which will concentrate its main activity during weekends and European competition matchdays.

With this approach, RNE is strengthening its sports offering for the new season through more broadcast hours, live coverage of the main competitions, specialised analysis and new on-demand listening formats. The addition of ‘La Tertulia de Tablero’ as a podcast will also allow the programme’s content to reach beyond conventional radio hours.
