RTVE will once again devote extensive coverage to La Vuelta 26, which will hold its 81st edition between 22 August and 13 September. The corporation will provide special coverage across TVE, RNE, RTVE.es and RTVE Play, with live coverage of the stages, analysis, interviews and specific content about the cycling race.
The Spanish race will begin with a time trial in Monaco and finish in Granada, after covering 3,275 kilometres over 21 stages. The route will pass through Monaco, France, Andorra and southern Spain, combining mountain, medium-mountain and flat stages with individual time trials.
RTVE’s coverage will include the full broadcast of every stage, news coverage on the Telediarios and the 24-hour Channel, radio commentary of the race finishes and a special portal on RTVE Deportes. The Teledeporte and RNE Deportes social media accounts will complete the coverage with videos, images, interviews and content from the special correspondents.
Teledeporte Play will offer all 21 stages in full
All 21 stages of La Vuelta 26 can be followed in full and live on Teledeporte Play. The platform will allow viewers to choose between six different cameras to follow the race from different viewpoints. Meanwhile, the stage finishes will be broadcast on La 1 or La 2.
Television coverage will accompany the race throughout its three weeks of competition, from the opening time trial in Monaco to the final arrival in Granada. Carlos de Andrés and Pedro Delgado will once again be TVE’s leading voices for narrating the stages and analysing the development of the competition.
The broadcasting team will be completed by Jaume Palomar and Josué Elena, who will take part in the television coverage of the race. The live broadcast will be supplemented by reports, interviews and extended content provided by the Telediarios and the 24-hour Channel.
In this way, information about La Vuelta will feature both in the stage broadcasts and in RTVE’s news programmes, following the latest developments involving the teams, the results and the main stories emerging from each day.
A route with ten mountain stages and demanding finishes
La Vuelta 26 will feature six mountain stages, four medium-mountain stages, four flat stages and four undulating stages. The route will also include an undulating stage with a summit finish and two individual time trials.
The demands of several stages will put the participants to the test. Highlights of the route include the stages between Gruissan and Font-Romeu, Andorra la Vella and Aramón Valdelinares, as well as the summit finishes at Alto de Aitana and Collado del Alguacil.
Five-time champion Tadej Pogacar starts as the race’s biggest attraction and one of the main favourites. Alongside him, the list of riders who could play a leading role includes Felix Gall, Mattias Skjelmose, Oscar Onley, Cian Uijtdebroeks and Spaniards Enric Mas and Mikel Landa.
Ecuadorian rider Richard Carapaz also appears as one of the potential animators of the race. Primoz Roglic’s situation, meanwhile, is one of the competition’s unknowns, according to the presentation material for La Vuelta 26.
RNE will provide commentary on the stage finishes
RTVE’s coverage will also reach public radio. Radio 1 will broadcast the finish of every stage live, with commentary on the decisive kilometres, the battles for victory and the development of the general classification.
RNE will have two special correspondents on the ground: reporter Rubén Ortega and sound technician José Luis Herrero Bugueño. Both will follow the race from its various settings, bringing listeners the latest news from the teams, statements from the leading figures, interviews and analysis of what happens in the peloton.
The latest news from La Vuelta will also have a prominent place on ‘Radiogaceta de los deportes’ and ‘Tablero deportivo’, programmes that will follow the progress of the race and connect with RNE’s special correspondents.
Radio coverage will not be limited to the results of each day. The special correspondents will also report on everything surrounding the competition and the stories that emerge during the various stages, with particular attention to the riders, teams and battle for the general classification.
Special portal and social media content
The RTVE Deportes portal will have a special website dedicated to La Vuelta 26. It will provide all the information about the stages, as well as access to videos and interviews related to the race.
The latest news and the most notable images will also be published on the Teledeporte and RNE Deportes profiles on Instagram, TikTok, X and Facebook. These accounts will offer videos of the main moments from each day and specific content produced by the special correspondents sent to the competition.
Teledeporte’s YouTube channel will publish a summary of each stage every afternoon. To follow and discuss the race on social media, RTVE will use the hashtag #VueltaRTVE alongside the initials of the relevant date. The first example will be #VueltaRTVE23a, scheduled for Saturday 23 August.
The information will also be incorporated into RTVE’s news programmes, with content on the Telediarios, the 24-hour Channel and RNE’s news bulletins. This offering will be supplemented by the summaries available on YouTube and posts from the corporation’s sports accounts.
Miranda! will provide the music for La Vuelta 26
This year’s edition will have ‘Despierto amándote’, by Argentine duo Miranda!, as its official theme tune. The group, a finalist in Benidorm Fest 2026, will contribute its musical offering to RTVE’s coverage during the three weeks of competition.
The song will accompany La Vuelta 26 from its start on 22 August until the final arrival scheduled for 13 September. Miranda!’s music will thus become part of the edition’s identity, alongside the broadcasts on television, radio and digital platforms.
With this deployment, RTVE will combine live coverage of all 21 stages with expert analysis, reports from its special correspondents and the publication of content on its platforms. The coverage will allow viewers to follow the race from Monaco to Granada via TVE, RNE, RTVE Play, RTVE Deportes and the Teledeporte and RNE Deportes social media accounts.
